Surprise!
We received Josh's visa yesterday in the mail. It was so exciting! The New Zealand Embassy in Washington, D.C. placed the most beautiful blue and white sticker across a whole page in his passport that states he is able to work in New Zealand as a Visiting Research Associate at Massey University. I love that visa! It came within a week of applying so that is quite impressive. I thought we'd have to call next Friday, my birthday, to check the status of the visa application. No worries anymore on that front.
For kicks, and confirmation, I opened up my electronic visa and read over it. It is a Working Holiday Visa and it is good for temporary employment. There is a job posting at International Pacific College for ESOL Lecturers. IPC is in Palmerston North. I do not meet all prefered qualifications, however, I am considering making application anyway. My life philosophy is, "Let them (employer) tell you no, don't tell yourself no."
We are making progress on the insurance front and are now prepared to send a direct payment via wire to the Student Safe corporation. After we confirm that the payment was received, we will be able to submit all the required documents to Rotary. Then, we will await the arrival of our plane tickets.
Hope to have more updates soon...
