It's Almost Time...

Well, we never made it to Branson and the latest word to come out about the car is that it is going to be totaled ...not happy about that as we really liked our car. So, AAA is supposed to make us an offer on the car and we're sad about it but what can you do? We only have 24 days left in the states but our rental car will not be covered by insurance that long. We'll either need to drive mom's old Taurus or pay for the rental out of pocket for about 10 days.

Christmas was a success. Food, fun, and seeing friends and family for what could have been the last time for awhile. We saw Jodi and Mike but didn't get to see Erica. She plans to come up here so we'll see how that goes. Josh and I hung out with his guy friends one night till 1 in the morning (so tired). We climbed Pinnacle Mountain with Trin on Christmas Eve. Man, the guys are out of shape. I was like, can we quit taking breaks so we can get to the top. It was cold and stopping to take a break made me colder! It was a cloudy day but the view from the top was still nice. Josh and I had a good New Year's Eve celebration just the two of us at home. It was nice.

Josh and I have been doing a lot of shopping trying to replace worn out clothes before the move. Josh got a lot of new dress clothes (2 sports jackets, ties, shirts, and pants). He also picked up a new pair of slip on shoes of which I'm jealous they don't sell for girls. He got some new polo shirts too.

As we've done the shopping for new clothes, we thrown out the old to give away to the Salvation Army. There's a pretty big pile going on there. We started packing, too. We've got a few boxes together but it seems like it's going to take a lot longer to complete the task and Josh is on hiatus right now watching football at Marcus's house (and I'm on the internet).

We went to Uhaul in Springdale to check out their availability and the girl working there was so unhelpful. Basically, they have no climate controlled 10x10 rooms available at this time, their reservation system was down, and we should call back everyday to see if something was available. They have the best facility in the area because they have interior corridor storage rooms. It's not the standard outside storage box with a chain link fence and three strands of barbwire across the top to deter would be thiefs. Their customer service, however, sucks.

On the emotional front, I was sad driving back to Fayetteville from Cabot thinking it would be the last time I drove that stretch of 540 for a while. When people ask how I feel about moving now, it's a really weird feeling I have. I can't really express how I truly feel. I say the words excited and nervous but I don't know if I really mean it or if I'm just saying those words because I think I should. I feel sad. But, the thing is this, I feel like we're going into a great unknown, a big question mark. It's bizarre. Again, though, you can't really say these things to someone who's expecting a quick answer.

We terminated our lease with the apartment. We got new driver's licenses. We still need to pack, change our mailing address, cancel our utilities, PACK! I guess I'll go get on that right now.

I have a couple of doctor's appointments coming up and 11 days of work. Start back up tomorrow...it should basically just be wrapping things up at this point. I officially resigned on Monday, December 18 and announced my last day would be Friday, January 19.

The time for the conclusion of work and the beginning of the move draws closer...
